A water mist system is a fire protection system which uses very fine water sprays (i.e. water mist). The small water droplets allow the water mist to control, suppress or extinguish fires by: Cooling both the flame and surrounding gases by evaporation---Absorb Heat&Cooling Displacing oxygen by evaporation-—-Isolate Oxygen Attenuating radiant heat by the small droplets themselves---Isolate Heat 
The effectiveness of a water mist system in fire suppression depends on its spray characteristics, which include the droplet size distribution, spray density and spray dynamics, with respect to the fire scenario, such as the shielding of the fuel, fire size and ventilation conditions.

 
So really high pressure system, specialized tubing or piping that's used for that. Now, there are differences between water mist systems and the droplet sizes that they produce, so typically the smaller the water droplet size the better it is at extinguishing a hot fire. Larger droplets can work faster on lower temperature fires, but they all work for the systems that they're approved for or listed for.

The pump type micro mist droplet extinguishing system mainly consists of components such as a water box,a high-
prssugopstabizinop,trlalrolpanelpirsurswitch, a nozzle,a partition control valve,a fire alarm extinguishing controller, a fire
detector, a remote communication module, and a remote control terminal. 
System working principle:
Figure 2 is the working principle diagram of the high-pressure fine mist extinguishing system: under monitoring, the high-pressure fine mist system is maintained at 1.0~1.2 MPa in the pipe (closed nozzle pipe) from the one-way valve of the pumpgroup to the pipe in front of thepartition control valve.
When the pressure inside the pipe isbelow 1.0MPa,the stabilizing pump starts, causing the pressure inside the pipe to reach 1.2 MPa. When the stabilizing pump has been running for more than 10 seconds and thepressure hasnot yet reached 1.2 MPa, the main pump starts and the stabilizing pump stops.
The main pump can be indirectly started through seven methods: fire alarmcontroler, on-site manual button, on-site mechanical emergencyhandle, manual alarm button, control center, pump group control panel, and remote control terminal.
